TROUBLESHOOTING
THE RULES
1) There are no "silly questions"
2) Nothing is a "problem"
3) There is normally a very simple solution to everything
Listed below are some of the more common questions I get asked. Please feel free to contact me direct at any time, however, if I cant reply quicky and personally, I may refer you here in the first instance. [email protected]
QUESTION - I cant view any of the templates on the CD
ANSWER - Your computer may not be recognising JPEG files (many other CDs you have e.g. Joanna Sheen and Sharon Duncan use PDF files)
JPEG files open with any free picture/photo package that comes with all windows PCs e.g. Windows Picture & Fax Viewer or Windows Picture Gallery. Download the following document and follow the instructions carefully and this will set up your computer to recognise and open JPEG files, and then try the CD again. Alternatively, you may have purchased an electronic cutting machine CD in error and consequently you will be unable to view the templates unless you have an appropriate cutting machine and relevant software.

QUESTION - What are the Minimum system requirements for the Jenigami CDs
ANSWER- Windows 98SE and above, including Vista and Windows 7. 128 MB of RAM. Screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels is recommended and 16 bits of higher. You will also require an application to view JPG and WMV files (all windows software include free packages for this). Adobe Acrobat is required to read the Terms of Use and General Instructions. The can be freely downloaded from the Adobe website if this is not already installed on the PC. No activation code is needed. The disc will automatically run when inserted into the CD/DVD drive (although Vista may prompt for this). If you have purchased a CD for an electronic cutting machine then you will need access to a machine and appropriate software to cut one of the following formats: GSD, KNK, WPC, SVG or Ai.
QUESTION - My finished Jenigami design wont sit right and wont fold flat
ANSWER - This is normally due to some of the slots not being LONG enough, this can be because of slight variations in cutting or the medium/thickness of material being used. Try and locate the offending slots and make these a little longer.
QUESTION - Can I use Jenigami designs with my Cricut machine
ANSWER - If you have either SCAL software or MTC software then you will be able to use the SVG templates on my electronic cutting machine CDs. However, please check all of the implications of purchasing and downloading either of these software packages first to ensure this is the right option for you as these may impact the firmware version required. Please note that Provocraft do not support or promote these software packages. Check HERE for more details.
QUESTION - What other cutting machines can I use with the Jenigami CDs
ANSWER - The CDs contain the following file formats; GSD, WPC, KNK, SVG and Ai.
GSD files are normally able to be used with Craft Robo, Silhouette and Wishblade machines.
WPC files are designed to be used with various versions of Funtime software which can be used on many machines but is commonly associated with Craft Robo, Pazzles and Gazelle machines.
KNK files are for use with the wide range of KNK machines.
SVG files are a common format and can be used with many machines, however, my SVG files have been developed with the quirks of SCAL for the Cricut machines in mind (so they can cut open paths and dashed lines). New machines due to be launched during 2010 e.g. the craftewell and the eclips from sizzix are also rumoured to be able to accept SVG files.
Ai files are also a common format and can be accepted by lots of different software packages.
If you are in any doubt about your machines/softwares ability to use my designs, please try one of the freebies first.
QUESTION - I have an Apple Mackintosh computer, can I use the Jenigami CDs
ANSWER - If you let me know that you have a MAC when you purchase the CD, I will provide you with a JPEG template only version rather than a menu driven version, these are only available from me and not from Create & Craft.
QUESTION - I cant get the Jenigami CD to work, can I get my money back
ANSWER - The Jenigami CDs can only be returned for a refund if the cellophane wrapper is not broken/removed, or if the security label has not been removed. The outer packaging on the CDs, and this website, contain details of the system requirements which should be checked prior to opening the CD. If the CD is found to be faulty then a replace CD will be provided, once the original has been returned.
QUESTION - How do I print the templates
ANSWER - All templates are designed to be printed A4 landscape, however, you can print in any size (or photocopy to any size) so long as all pages/parts for the same design are resized equally/proportionately.
You can print straight on to the cardstock/material of your choice, so long as it is compatible with your printer.
You can print on to plain cardstock, cut this out, and use this as a template/stencil to drawn around on the cardstock/material of your choice.
You can print the coloured back and front pages onto normal printer paper, then cut and glue both sides together.
For other printing help, see the attached.

QUESTION - How can I enlarge the template (or make it smaller)
ANSWER - As above, all templates are designed to be printed and cut from A4 cardstock, however, depending on the printer you have and the printer software that came with it, othe roptions may be available to you. I have a Hewlett Packard printer which is quite a few years old and I douns that I have the option to POSTER PRINT which means I can take any A4 template and make it LOTS bigger. The attached photo instruction should help if you want to try and do the same. To make a design smaller, I normally just tell the printer to print A5 and this halfs the size of the design.
I hope this helps.

QUESTION - How do I attach the Jenigami design to a card
ANSWER - There are a few different ways to do this, depending on the design. Some designs can just have the extra flaps of card at the back of the design, folded flat, and then glue the back to your card/layout. Some designs you can use the 'square' method to attach them to the inside of a card. I show the flat flap method on many of my videos, and I attach below a photo of the square method. Having said all of this, I find many recipients prefer to have a free standing design, so I tend just to insert them into small pockets.
FURTHER GRAPHICAL INSTRUCTURE ARE CONTAINED IN THE ATTACHMENT BELOW.
